Competition Vendors: Enhance Your Brand Visibility with Promotional Canopies

When you are at a competition as a vendor, your main goal is probably to stand out to the audience and gain new clients. But how do you do that with so many other businesses and their promotional canopies literally right next to you? Don’t worry! We've compiled a list of the best ways to be bold and attract your audience at that next competition. (And don't forget to grab one of our custom tents for events!)

Use Bold Colors

You need to be #BeBoldStandOut. When you choose bold colors it helps to set you and your business apart from those around you. The audience’s eye is drawn to your booth, and they are much more likely to engage with your products or services.

Of course, when you go to choose colors, you want to make sure they really resonate with your branding. If you haven’t had the chance to put your colors together, you might want to consider researching the psychology of colors. For example, when you know that using a bold red makes your potential client feel excitement, or that a bold purple emits creative feelings, you can design your branding according to the feelings you want your ideal customer to have.

Once you've chosen your colors, you'll want to make sure everything from your promotional canopy to your advertisement flag reflects that branding!

Note: There are exceptions to the use of bright colors. For example, if you are part of the wedding industry, your choices might include more neutral and pastel colors. Whatever you choose, remain true to what you know will sell.

Do Something Different

Another way to be bold with your next competition vendor booth is to create something daring. Whether it be an object that towers over the other booths around your or a controversial message, you’ll have the opportunity to gain attention from potential clients and be memorable long after the event is over. If you are looking for height, our custom flags are the way to go! Not only are they easy to set up, but they’ll allow your ideal clients to identify your booth from a distance.

If you do choose to use a controversial or funny message as an attention-getter, you may even want to add it to that advertisement flag or promotional canopy as well. After all, you want attendees to say #IRememberYou.

Collaborate with Other Vendors

Another way to #IncreaseYourReach is to collaborate with your fellow vendors. While this may not come to you naturally as a way to #BeBoldStandOut, working together with another company can actually help you to gain more customers.

For example, let’s say you are in the health and wellness industry and your main product is a protein drink. You research your competitors who will also be at the health and wellness competition and find a company that creates at-home workouts. If you were to reach out to them and collaborate on a booth presentation, think of all the new customers that would be attracted to your combined display. The at-home workout audience may not be aware of your protein drink, but it might complement the workouts nicely and vice versa.

When it comes to being bold and memorable with your display, thinking outside the box and partnering with others in related industries might be just the ticket. Who might you partner with at your next event?

Increase Engagement

Another way to be bold with your next competition vendor booth involves taking your booth outside of the booth. Let me explain. You can increase your reach by having your employees walk through the arena wearing your logo and giving out free samples of your product. The key is that your employees are wearing your brand colors and logo so that when your ideal customer eventually sees your booth, they will immediately put two and two together. They’ll remember your friendly employee, and the sample they offered, and be excited to purchase from you.

Note: Verify that it's okay with the event organizer that you leave your booth to hand out samples. Some events allow it and others do not.

Create an Experience

When you create an experience for your audience, it makes it much easier to #IncreaseYourReach.  Bring strobe lights, music, fog machines - you name it. Whatever you can think of that is on-brand and can create an unforgettable experience for your audience is exactly what you need to do! They’ll leave your booth ready to tell others they come in contact with about you and your company.

Note: Make sure you take a look at any and all rules for the event that could potentially hinder you from bringing something to create your one-of-a-kind experience.

The Ins and Outs of Canopy Safety

Let’s set the scene: You just purchased your new canopy setup from All In Canopies™️ and can’t wait to use it! But the local meteorologist is reporting questionable weather in the forecast. What should you do? Proceed as normal? Use weights? What kind of canopy or tent safety guidelines should be considered? We’ve got the answers to your questions and more!

Canopies and tents in and of themselves are not dangerous items, but they can pose potential threats in unsafe weather conditions. But a setup stored away for no one to see does not provide business exposure. We want to encourage correct use to get the most out of your branded display! Here are some tips and tricks to ensure the best possible outcome for canopy safety among the elements.

Fire Hazards

Depending on the venue, there is a possibility that your tent could pose a fire hazard. Local fire departments typically recommend tents and supportive materials be flame-retardant. Our 600D canvas polyester canopy material is PU coated with fire retardant qualities. Some permitted events may even require that displays have a Certificate of Flame Resistance. All In Canopies™️ products include the notice on the sewn-in label.

To further ensure canopy safety, check with the fire department to determine any state, county, city, or event regulations. Always looks for and avoid electrical units near the setup. And keep fireworks pointed far away from your tent — and yourself — to ensure tent safety in New Braunfels or your neighborhood!

High Winds

It's no surprise the Hill Country sees its fair share of heavy winds. That’s why it’s imperative to practice canopy safety in New Braunfels and beyond. The most common way to prevent a canopy from taking flight in high winds is to not use it until conditions improve. But if you must use it on a windy day, there are multiple ways to secure a tent setup.

Scout the location before the event and look for a sheltered area to "hide" from unexpected wind gusts. Trees, large water containers, big rocks, and any other heavy items at the event location might be helpful in blocking wind and/or tying down the setup. If the canopy walls are up, consider allowing wind to pass through the setup by detaching the full wall on the bottom or upper side velcro leg attachments. Use half walls toward the middle or top sides to allow wind to pass through.

Stakes are a reliable way to secure a canopy, and All In Canopies™️ clients receive a four-piece basic rope and stake set with every canopy purchase. But make sure they are approved for use before you stick them in the ground. We recommend contacting the event venue beforehand to see which securing methods are permitted.

PHOTO - weightsAnchoring your setup to the ground with stakes will work most days, but when the weather is a challenge, you’ll need heavier weights for optimal tent safety. All In Canopies™️ offers a 4-piece sandbag package available for purchase. They can be easily filled for more stability when you can't use ground stakes.

There are many ways to creatively secure a canopy. Check out our blog post on this topic. If you come up with a creative idea, we would love to share it with our readers. Please send a photo to bebold@allincanopies.com.

Best Judgement

As with all things, please use your best judgment when deciding if it’s worth setting up a canopy in unfamiliar weather scenarios. If there is any risk that your popup tent might blow over and create injury to others or damage to the surrounding property, consider waiting until conditions improve.

In winter weather, our commercial-grade frame and canvas material have a higher chance to withstand the conditions. Canopies are manufactured from heavy-duty materials that stand the test of time, but that also means they could cause damage if a gust of wind should drag them down the street. Please refrain from setting up a canopy without weights or take it down immediately if winds exceed 15 miles per hour. While 15 mph doesn’t seem like much, the potential for catastrophe still exists.

For proper canopy safety guidelines, please review the assembly instructions provided with every purchase, including handling and care recommendations for normal weather conditions. Or download the canopy assembly guidelines on the Custom Canopies page. If the weather conditions exceed guideline recommendations, please think twice before setting up a tent. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Be Winter Ready with All In Canopies™️

The FUN doesn’t have to stop when the temperature drops! Whether you are participating in an outdoor event, selling at a carnival, showcasing at a sporting event, or lining up for a parade, All In Canopies™️ has you covered – literally - with our New Braunfels Tents and Canopies for Winter Events.

All In Canopies’ products are created to showcase your BRAND and keep you covered rain or shine, warm or cold. Our products are specifically designed to hold up to the elements. With three different sizes of tents, we have the perfect size to meet your needs and ensure you are able to #BEBOLDSTANDOUT.

Canopies for Winter Events

There is a rumor floating around that tents and canopies are only for “nice” weather and that’s just not true. Our Canopies are durable enough to keep the rain off and help to re-direct the wind away from you.

Our canopies are made from 600D polyester canvas, which is one of the most durable and lightweight materials available. To ensure our canopies are 100% waterproof our material is coated in Polyurethane (PU).

Take That Winter!

If the elements are still a bother and you need just a little bit more coverage, you might want to consider adding an additional feature to your order with an extra panel or three.

By closing off all three sides of your canopy you not only add additional privacy and security but you’ll be protected from the elements on those three sides. When you choose to add those extra panels, you also increase your display opportunities through print on the walls of your canopy. That’s a #WinWin for your brand, your comfort, and your image.

New Braunfels Tent Vs. Canopy - What Do I Need?

For the chillier weather All In Canopies™️ recommends using a Tent vs. a Canopy. Also known as frame tents, our tents are made with heavier, thicker material and provide better coverage and shelter from inclement weather. Canopies (also referred to as pop-up canopies) are made from a lighter material which makes them easy to set up, but not as effective for those chilly and windy days.

To request a quote for a new canopy or additional panels send us a request and we will work with you to design a product that supports your Brand and keeps you covered from the elements.

Where to Use Your Tent or Canopy

While it might be tempting to keep your canopy only for those winter events that happen indoors, there are plenty of reasons to take it outside as well. Check out these options for using that tent or canopy during the cooler months of the year.

New Braunfels Tent Care: Summer vs. Winter

When it comes to summer vs. winter tent care, there isn’t much of a difference. Our Tents and Canopies are designed to hold up to the elements, but it is important to continue to take care of them, no matter the weather.

When you are done with your tent and it is ready to be stored safely away, make sure your material is 100% dry. You can dry your tent by hand with a towel or let nature do the work and air dry the materials. No matter what you do, don’t put your tent away wet.

Wipe away any dirt as leaving dirt on the panels may cause scratches when folded up. If water doesn’t eliminate the dirt as quickly as you would like it to, consider adding a bit of dish soap to help cut through the dirt and grease. Do not use harsh chemicals – such as bleach – to clean your tent. Your tent material is designed to be easily cleaned.

Take the time to fold your material with care. Time spent putting it away with care will ensure an easy (and quick) setup the next time you need it.

Finally, don’t forget about the poles and support! Your canopy support pieces also need to be dry and free of dirt before you store them.

Caring for Your Custom Tents and Canopies

You’ve made a wise decision to purchase your custom tents and canopies from All In Canopies™️.

Go ahead, pat yourself on the back – you deserve it. Good job!

As much as we’d love to have you as a repeat customer, it’s more important that we have you as a happy customer – so let’s go over some basic product care so that the beautiful canopy you’ve just invested in stays at trade show worthy for years to come.

Your canopy is your friend

Yes, for the most part, your custom-printed tent is a low-maintenance item — just set it up and let it do the promotional work for you! That said, a little attention goes a long way. Regular inspection and proper care can literally quadruple the life of your canopy. So, take the time to check on it regularly, keep it clean, and prevent any potential problems before they happen.

Let it play outside – except when you don’t

Custom tents and canopies are made for the outdoors, but extreme weather conditions can take their toll. So, if there is a strong wind, pounding rain, or heavy snow move your canopy indoors or take it down, away from the harsh weather conditions. Use it when you need it but if you wouldn’t leave your pet out in that weather, you probably shouldn’t leave your canopy out there either.

Indoor canopies need love, too

Canopies used indoors need less maintenance than outdoor canopies … but less is not any. Use your vacuum’s upholstery attachment and cover it with some cheesecloth or nylon (a great use for old pantyhose) and then run the attachment over your canopy to remove any dirt and dust. You can spot-clean your canopy with warm water too if needed – but only after you’ve removed any debris or grime first.

Give your canopy a bath

If your canopy is in need of more intense cleaning, warm and soapy water will remove even the toughest grime. The important thing to remember when washing is to use the coolest water possible. If there is moderate soiling, you can use warm water – but try not to go too much over 30 degrees. And, please – use dish detergent! Harsh detergents or chemicals can fade the print you worked so hard to design. Wash your canopy with the care that you would wash your car. Use your garden hose to spray off any additional residue and set your canopy up to dry. Never let your canopy sit in water for an extended length of time.

Note: If you've enlisted the help of the entire family, great! Just make sure to keep children away from the canopy while you set it up. Canopies are heavy and no one wants squished fingers derailing the cleaning process. (Click the picture to download the instructions.)

Keep it cool

After washing, set your canopy up or lay it out flat to dry. A spot out of the sunshine will reduce the risk of fading. Lots of air circulation will keep mold and mildew at bay. Whatever you do, resist the urge to use any heat on your custom canopy or tent.

Wet is a no-no

You wouldn’t leave your baby wet. The same goes for your canopy. Every All In Canopy package includes a wonderful carry and storage bag. These are handy for transport and will protect your canopy when stored in between uses. Never ever put your canopy away wet as this can cause mildew or rotting and folding a wet canopy can cause discoloration and/or a permanent crease. Always make sure your canopy is completely dry before putting it away.

Take a closer look

While every All In Canopy is extremely well-made, stuff happens. So, look closely for any loose strings, frayed edging, or tiny rips or tears. Any and all of this can be handled with ease and a little canopy first-aid – but not so much if it’s not taken care of immediately. A little attention is a great prevention.

Safe Storage

You won't want to store your canopy very often, but when you do, keep in mind that your canopy wants space. Don't store it too close to other items or set heavy items on top of it, as that will result in dents and scratches. Once your canopy is clean, dry, and in the bag, set it upright with the feet and wheels on the ground. Protect your canopy by keeping it away from young children and any harsh weather conditions.

Consider having twins

If your canopy is going to be used continuously, consider purchasing two. That way when/if that first canopy gets dirty or needs minor repairs, it can be easily replaced with canopy number two so you are never without a canopy. If one is good, two is better. And don’t even get us started on how great three are … Rotation, rotation, rotation.
